Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one model. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different model that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.

What the feed excludes
An eBay search for iMac M4 returns far more than the model itself: chargers, cases, replacement screens, logic boards and locked machines all mention it in their titles. iMac M4: buyer & reseller spec sheet
Telling it from its siblings. Sellers often write "iMac 24" and leave the chip out, or title it "2024" and nothing else. Ask for the About This Mac screenshot: the Chip line should read Apple M4. Earlier iMacs look nearly identical from the front, so a photo of the screen proves nothing. Titles that list several chips in one line ("fits M1/M3/M4") are accessories, not the computer.
What moves the price. Memory and storage are fixed at purchase on Apple Silicon, so the configuration you buy is the one you keep. More memory and a bigger drive lift the asking price, as does the higher CPU and GPU core count, and the base configuration is the volume seller that sets the floor. Colour also shows up in many titles; compare like for like before calling anything a deal.
Traps seen while tuning.
- Power adapters, USB-C hubs, keyboard covers, screen protectors and replacement displays are titled "for iMac 24 M4" and dominate a plain search. The feed keeps them out; a saved eBay search will not.
- Cracked-screen and "broken" machines are listed at tempting prices, sometimes under a Used condition rather than For parts. Read the whole title.
Buying a used iMac: what to check

Used
- Ask for a photo of the About This Mac screen showing the chip, memory and storage. Configurations of one model differ a lot in price.
- Ask the seller to confirm Find My is turned off and the Mac is signed out of their Apple ID. An Activation-Locked Mac can't be set up without the previous owner.
- Ask whether it was a company or school machine. A Mac enrolled in remote management (MDM) can lock itself to that organisation after a reset.
- For a laptop, ask for the battery cycle count and condition from System Information, and check the photos for screen coating wear and dents on the corners.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (Apple or a third party) and how long the warranty is.
- Enter the serial number on Apple's coverage check page to confirm the model and any remaining coverage.
New
- Check the box is sealed and the serial on the box matches the listing, then check coverage with Apple once it arrives.
- Very low prices on "new" Macs from new seller accounts are the most common scam on this category.
