How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one part. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different part that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 4445 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 4311 of 4445 (~97%) for quality reasons. The remaining 134 are what we'd actually surface.
- 4037 missing a required keyword group (e.g. completeness / authenticity)
- 201 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 45 priced above the curated ceiling
- 11 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 9 shipped from a region we exclude
- 6 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for DDR4 16GB ECC RDIMM returns far more than the part itself: laptop chips, mining rigs, coolers, empty boxes and whole PCs all mention it in their titles. These are the 62 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to DDR4 16GB ECC RDIMM because they are: that's the noise.

DDR4 16GB ECC RDIMM: buyer & reseller spec sheet
One module, not a kit. This feed is filtered to single 16GB registered modules. Titles that lead with 16GB can still be two 8GB sticks or four 4GB sticks, and many multi-packs lead with the total instead (32GB, 64GB, 128GB). Confirm Capacity per Module and Number of Modules in the item specifics rather than the title; if they disagree, believe the specifics and ask the seller.
Registered, not unbuffered. RDIMMs need a platform that supports registered memory, and most consumer desktop boards take only unbuffered. ECC UDIMM, SODIMM and LRDIMM all turn up under this search and are different form factors. Check Form Factor in the specifics, and check your board's memory support documentation before buying.
Speed labels. Sellers quote the same module as PC4-2666V or DDR4-2666, and many list only a manufacturer part number. The asking-price spread between the slowest and fastest grades is wide, but how a faster module behaves next to slower memory is a platform question, so check your server vendor's population guide. Rank notation (1Rx4, 2Rx4, 2Rx8) appears in most titles; read your platform's rules rather than inferring compatibility from it.
Listing traps. Both mislabelled form factors and mislabelled quantities showed up while this feed was tuned: ECC desktop UDIMMs titled as server RAM, "16GB" titles that were two 8GB sticks, and bulk lots priced per module in the headline. OEM-branded parts (HPE, Dell, Lenovo) are common; look the part number up before assuming it matches the spec you want.
Buying used memory: what to check
These checks apply to every kit on our memory pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this kit.
Used
- Confirm the module type matches your system (desktop UDIMM vs server RDIMM, ECC vs non-ECC). Server and desktop memory are not interchangeable.
- Check that every stick in a kit shows the same part number on its label.
- Ask for a screenshot of a memory test passing. Otherwise test it yourself inside the return window.
Refurbished
- Find out the warranty and whether the modules were tested as a matched kit.
New
- Check the label part number against the manufacturer's spec for capacity, speed and timings.
