How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one model. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different model that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 57 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 33 of 57 (~58%) for quality reasons. The remaining 24 are what we'd actually surface.
- 22 listed in the wrong eBay category (an accessory or part, not the item)
- 7 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 2 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Dell Precision 5820 Tower returns far more than the model itself: chargers, cases, replacement screens, logic boards and locked machines all mention it in their titles. These are the 5 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Dell Precision 5820 Tower because they are: that's the noise.

Precision 5820 Tower: buyer & reseller spec sheet
Telling it from its siblings. The 5820 is a Dell Precision tower workstation, often written T5820 in titles. It is a different machine from the 5860, the 3650 and the 7820, which show up in the same searches. Check the model name on the service tag or the system-information screen rather than the title. This feed requires "Precision" and "5820" in the title and drops 7820 titles.
Configurations & value impact. Price is driven by processor tier (Xeon W versus Core X-series), memory, storage and the graphics card. More memory, larger SSDs and a workstation or RTX card raise the asking price. Many sellers list the same base machine in dozens of build-to-order variants, so compare like for like and read the full spec line.
Traps seen while tuning. Replacement parts that name the 5820 (motherboards, front panels, cables, empty cases) are common; the feed uses eBay's desktop category to keep them out. Machines sold with no drive, no RAM or as barebones are rejected, but check the listing on any unit that does not state its storage.
Buying a used desktop PC: what to check
These checks apply to every model on our desktop PC pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this model.
Used
- Ask for a screenshot of the system information showing the exact CPU, graphics card, memory and storage. Listings often name the top configuration of a model line.
- Ask whether a BIOS or firmware password is set. A locked BIOS can make the machine impossible to reinstall or upgrade.
- Confirm Windows is activated, or price in a license if it isn't.
- For a laptop, ask for a battery report (powercfg /batteryreport on Windows) showing design versus current capacity.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (the manufacturer or a third party), how long the warranty is, and whether the battery or storage was replaced.
New
- Check the box is sealed and register the serial for warranty as soon as it arrives.
