Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different model that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.

MacBook Air M1: buyer & reseller spec sheet
Telling it apart. The M1 Air is the Apple Silicon model, not the Intel one that looks almost identical and often carries the same "2020" in listing titles. Check the About This Mac screenshot: it should read "Apple M1", not an Intel Core processor. A listing that only says "MacBook Air 2020" without naming the chip can be either, so ask for that screenshot before paying an M1 price. Listings that name both chips ("M1/Intel") usually describe accessories, not the machine.
Configurations that move the price. Memory and storage drive most of the spread between two otherwise identical Airs. More unified memory and a larger SSD sell for more, and neither can be upgraded later, so a base configuration is the cheaper but more limiting buy. GPU core count is another variation sellers list, so compare like for like. Read the specs in the title and photos rather than assuming a base unit.
Traps while tuning. Many results for this model are cases, keycaps, batteries, screens and logic boards that name the M1 Air, and Pro models with an M1 chip are often titled alongside it. Some sellers disclose battery problems in the title, so price those below a clean unit and check the listed battery health.
Buying a used MacBook Air: what to check

Used
- Ask for a photo of the About This Mac screen showing the chip, memory and storage. Configurations of one model differ a lot in price.
- Ask the seller to confirm Find My is turned off and the Mac is signed out of their Apple ID. An Activation-Locked Mac can't be set up without the previous owner.
- Ask whether it was a company or school machine. A Mac enrolled in remote management (MDM) can lock itself to that organisation after a reset.
- For a laptop, ask for the battery cycle count and condition from System Information, and check the photos for screen coating wear and dents on the corners.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (Apple or a third party) and how long the warranty is.
- Enter the serial number on Apple's coverage check page to confirm the model and any remaining coverage.
New
- Check the box is sealed and the serial on the box matches the listing, then check coverage with Apple once it arrives.
- Very low prices on "new" Macs from new seller accounts are the most common scam on this category.
