Exact model identity. This feed is the 13-inch MacBook Air with the base M2 chip. Don't rely on the title: ask for a screenshot of About This Mac, which names the chip, memory and storage. Sellers sometimes tag a 15-inch Air or an M1 or M3 machine with "M2" in the same title, and the feed excludes the obvious cases by title, not every mislabel. A listing that names no screen size at all is the likeliest to be the wrong one, so confirm it before paying.
Configurations & value. One model, many price points. Memory and storage are chosen at purchase and sellers list both, so the same Air can ask very different amounts depending on the combination. More memory and more storage push the price up. Treat the 8GB / 256GB listings as the baseline and judge a premium by what it adds, not by the headline. Refurbished grades from a reseller usually ask more than a private "used" unit, and sealed new units sit above both.
Traps seen while tuning.
- Listings that name a battery or keyboard fault in the title ("Bad V Key", "LOW Battery Count") are priced like working machines. Read the description.
- Screen protectors, cases and replacement parts that name the model flood the search. The feed keeps only whole laptops, so an accessory titled with the model never reaches the price table.
Buying a used MacBook Air: what to check

Used
- Ask for a photo of the About This Mac screen showing the chip, memory and storage. Configurations of one model differ a lot in price.
- Ask the seller to confirm Find My is turned off and the Mac is signed out of their Apple ID. An Activation-Locked Mac can't be set up without the previous owner.
- Ask whether it was a company or school machine. A Mac enrolled in remote management (MDM) can lock itself to that organisation after a reset.
- For a laptop, ask for the battery cycle count and condition from System Information, and check the photos for screen coating wear and dents on the corners.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (Apple or a third party) and how long the warranty is.
- Enter the serial number on Apple's coverage check page to confirm the model and any remaining coverage.
New
- Check the box is sealed and the serial on the box matches the listing, then check coverage with Apple once it arrives.
- Very low prices on "new" Macs from new seller accounts are the most common scam on this category.
