How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one part. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different part that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 938 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 787 of 938 (~84%) for quality reasons. The remaining 151 are what we'd actually surface.
- 668 missing a required keyword group (e.g. completeness / authenticity)
- 72 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 30 priced above the curated ceiling
- 5 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 5 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 4 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 3 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Samsung 990 Pro 2TB returns far more than the part itself: laptop chips, mining rigs, coolers, empty boxes and whole PCs all mention it in their titles. These are the 76 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Samsung 990 Pro 2TB because they are: that's the noise.

The Samsung 990 Pro is one of the most-listed high-end NVMe drives on eBay. That makes it a good used buy and an easy search to get wrong: at a glance, the 1TB and 4TB versions, the cheaper EVO line and the previous-generation 980 Pro all look much the same in search results.
This page filters a live eBay feed down to single 2TB Samsung 990 Pro drives from US sellers with established feedback, with or without the factory heatsink. It excludes other capacities, other Samsung drive lines, listings that name several capacities at once, multi-drive lots, parts-only and untested drives, and empty boxes. Use the condition chips to switch between Used, Refurbished and New. Prices in the table are asking prices from currently-active listings, not completed sales.
Which Samsung 990 Pro you're actually buying
Capacity is the first thing to confirm. The 990 Pro is sold in several
capacities under one name, and sellers write the 2TB model as 2TB, 2 TB,
2.0TB and 2000GB. The listing's item specifics carry a Storage Capacity field;
on the listings inspected for this page it read 2TB. Check that field rather
than trusting the title.
Watch for listings that name several capacities at once. Titles like "990 PRO 4TB 2TB 1TB" or "1TB / 2TB" are multi-variation listings. The price shown in search results belongs to one of those variants, and not necessarily the 2TB one. This page excludes them for that reason. If you open one yourself, select 2TB on the listing page and check the price again before you commit.
The retail part number is the most precise identifier. 2TB retail listings
on this search carry part numbers beginning MZ-V9P2T0. The suffix on that
number separates the two retail versions sellers describe:
MZ-V9P2T0B/AMand similar…Bforms appear on listings described as having no heatsink. This is the bare M.2 2280 stick.MZ-V9P2T0CWappears on listings described as the heatsink version. AMZ-V9P2T0GWsuffix also turns up on listings described as having a heatsink.
Both are the same 2TB 990 Pro, and this page shows both. The difference is physical. The heatsink version is taller than a bare stick, so confirm it clears whatever it's going into. Sellers often market it for the PS5. A laptop or a motherboard slot under its own cover plate is a different matter: measure first.
A small number of listings quote a different Samsung part number while
calling the drive a 990 Pro. The forms seen on this search began MZVL72T0. We
haven't verified what product that part number is. The one such listing inspected
for this page reported Manufacturer Warranty: No in its item specifics. If a
listing's part number doesn't begin MZ-V9P2T0, ask the seller what it is and
what warranty, if any, comes with it before you pay a retail-drive price for it.
The Samsung drives that aren't a 990 Pro
Three other Samsung lines show up on this search. All of them are genuinely different purchases, and the feed excludes all three:
- 990 EVO / 990 EVO Plus. A different, lower-tier Samsung drive line. On this
search, one listing titled itself "990 PRO EVO Plus" while quoting a part
number beginning
MZ-V9S, notMZ-V9P, and another sold "990 PRO and 990 EVO PLUS" under a single listing. If "EVO" appears anywhere in the title, it isn't the drive this page is about. - 980 Pro. Samsung's previous-generation Pro drive. It is a real product and often cheaper, but it is not a 990 Pro.
- Other capacities. 1TB and 4TB 990 Pro listings show up in the same searches. Their prices sit on either side of the 2TB model, so a mislabelled one can look like a deal, or like a rip-off.
Used vs refurbished vs new Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
Used is a large share of this feed, and for an SSD that covers a wide range. An SSD has no moving parts, but its flash memory wears with writes, and the cosmetic condition of a drive tells you nothing about how much of that wear has been used up. Several sellers on this search quote a health percentage in the title: "100% health", "99% Health", "Low Hours", and one "health 50%-79%". That number is the most useful thing a used SSD listing can tell you, and this page does not filter on it. The profile cannot see it, so it's up to you to ask (see below).
Refurbished collapses several eBay grades into one chip. The underlying grades describe the state of the drive as judged by whoever refurbished it: Samsung, a commercial refurbisher, or the seller themselves. The listing won't necessarily tell you which. US refurbished supply for this drive is thin, so the Refurbished chip may often be empty.
New on this page includes Open box. For a component, open box means unused but unsealed, which is a New-tier purchase rather than a category of its own. The chips also read the listing title as well as eBay's condition dropdown, and the title wins: a drive whose title says "sealed" buckets as New even if the dropdown says otherwise. One whose title says "as is" or "untested" is pulled out of the priced buckets entirely rather than being averaged into Used.
What this Samsung 990 Pro 2TB feed filters out, and why it matters
Every pattern below came out of the live listing data while this page's filter was being built.
Multi-capacity and multi-drive listings. Described above. Among listings rejected for what their title said, the largest group named more than one capacity. The search also turned up a four-drive PCIe adapter card, a monitor bundle and a complete gaming PC. Each carried "990 PRO 2TB" in its title.
Empty boxes. One listing on this search was the retail box, packaging and manual with no drive, titled so that "990 PRO SSD 2TB" was the most prominent text. It was priced at a small fraction of a real drive.
Asking prices far above the going rate. The single biggest group of rejected listings was "new" drives priced well above what the rest of the New bucket was asking, some at two to three times as much. The feed has a price ceiling for that reason. It's there to keep the page readable, not as a judgment on any individual seller.
Overseas listings. A persistent cluster of new-condition 990 Pro listings on this search ships from outside the US. This page is filtered to verified US item locations, for shipping, returns and warranty-claim reasons.
Low-feedback sellers. A large number of listings, many priced attractively, came from accounts with little or no feedback history. This page requires established seller feedback. That removes some honest first-time sellers along with the rest. It's a deliberate trade.
Parts-only and untested drives. Excluded at the profile level. Anything that slips through on wording is bucketed separately rather than being averaged into Used.
Samsung 990 Pro 2TB: before you buy
Any condition. Confirm Storage Capacity in the item specifics, and confirm the
part number begins MZ-V9P2T0. Decide whether you want the heatsink version, and
check it physically fits where it's going. Confirm the seller accepts returns. A
drive that isn't detected, or that reports poor health on arrival, is something you
want to be able to send back.
Used. Ask for a screenshot of the drive's health report from a tool such as Samsung Magician or CrystalDiskInfo, taken by the seller on this specific drive. The fields that matter are the health or percentage-used figure, total data written, and power-on hours. A title that says "100% health" with no screenshot behind it is a claim, not evidence. Also ask whether the drive has been updated to current firmware. Early 990 Pro firmware was widely reported to have a health-reporting problem that Samsung later addressed with an update, so a used drive's health history is easier to interpret on current firmware. Then plan to check the health yourself as soon as it arrives, while the return window is open.
Refurbished. Establish who did the refurbishment and what warranty comes with it. "Refurbished" with no named refurbisher and no warranty is "used" by another name, and should be priced like used. Ask for the same health screenshot as for a used drive.
New. Ask whether it is sealed, and check that the part number on the box matches the listing. Samsung's consumer SSD warranty is limited by both time and total data written, whichever runs out first. Check the current terms on Samsung's own site, including whether a claim needs proof of purchase from an authorised seller, before you count on it for a drive bought second-hand.
On price. The heatsink and non-heatsink versions both sit in this feed, and the heatsink version usually asks more for the same drive. Read the table by condition bucket rather than anchoring on the single lowest number. Treat a listing far below the rest of the Used bucket as a question to ask the seller rather than an opportunity. On this search, the usual answers were a different capacity, a different drive line, or an empty box.
Buying a used SSD: what to check
These checks apply to every drive on our storage pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this drive.
Used
- Ask for a screenshot of the drive's health readout (SMART data): health percentage, total data written and power-on hours.
- Confirm the reported capacity matches the label. Fake high-capacity drives exist.
- Ask whether it was wiped. You should wipe it again yourself either way.
Refurbished
- Find out the warranty and whether the health readout was reset or replaced.
New
- Check the box is sealed and register the serial for warranty as soon as it arrives.
