- Release & saves: FromSoftware's action RPG was published in North America by Atlus on PlayStation 3. It ships on a Blu-ray disc and saves to the console's hard drive, so there is no cartridge battery to worry about. Check that the cover marks it as the US (NTSC-U/C) release; the game launched in Japan first, which is why many US listings show "2009" even though the US launch was 2010.
- Print variants: An original-run print, often called Black Label, and a later Greatest Hits budget reprint both exist, and sealed Black Label copies are the ones that command a premium. Larger collector editions also exist and sell far above a standard copy. Compare cover and spine against a known authentic listing rather than trusting a seller's label.
- Listing traps: Import copies sold as "region free", "Asia", or in Korean or Chinese editions are not US copies, and the feed filters the ones that say so. Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
