How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 23 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 13 of 23 (~57%) for quality reasons. The remaining 10 are what we'd actually surface.
- 12 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Disgaea 4 (PS3) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 121 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Disgaea 4 (PS3) because they are: that's the noise.

Disgaea 4: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Publisher and release: Nippon Ichi developed it and NIS America published the US release in 2011. It is a Blu-ray disc for the PS3 and saves to the console's storage, so there is no battery or memory card to worry about.
- Editions and value impact: Besides the standard retail copy, listings show a Premium Edition and a Limited Edition. Both are sold at noticeably higher asking prices than a standard copy, so check which edition the photos show before comparing prices. Extras that shipped with the special editions are often missing from used copies, so ask the seller what is included.
- Sibling confusion: Disgaea 4 has a later Vita re-release and a Japanese-only expanded version, and sellers pair it with Disgaea 3 in two-game bundles. This feed only keeps single US copies of the PS3 game.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: Manual-only and instruction-booklet-only listings carry the game's name but no disc. Some sellers sell a bare disc, which is a legitimate loose copy; check that the listing says disc and not just a manual or case.
Buying PlayStation 3 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation 3 disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
