How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 17 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 9 of 17 (~53%) for quality reasons. The remaining 8 are what we'd actually surface.
- 5 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 2 shipped from a region we exclude
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice (PS3) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 92 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice (PS3) because they are: that's the noise.

Disgaea 3: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Publisher and save: Nippon Ichi developed it; the US release came out in 2008 (listing titles show NIS America as publisher). It is a Blu-ray disc that saves to the console's hard drive, so there is no battery or memory card to worry about.
- Print variants: Listings mention a Greatest Hits reprint alongside the original retail print, and some sealed sellers advertise a "first printing". Those claims are often unverified, so compare the cover and disc against a known listing before paying a premium.
- Same-title confusion: Japanese discs and PAL discs (European, Italian) are separate region releases and are filtered out; check that the listing is the US NTSC disc. Some titles bundle this game with Disgaea 4, which the feed leaves out.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: Manual-only and strategy-guide-only listings carry the game's name but contain no disc; the feed filters them out. Disc-only copies are kept and show under the Loose chip. A few sealed copies ask well above the usual sealed price (bonus-disc bundles), so compare against other sealed listings first.
Buying PlayStation 3 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation 3 disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
