How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 13 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 2 of 13 (~15%) for quality reasons. The remaining 11 are what we'd actually surface.
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Journey Collector's Edition (PS3) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 98 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Journey Collector's Edition (PS3) because they are: that's the noise.

Journey: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is: the 2012 Collector's Edition is a physical PS3 release from thatgamecompany that puts Journey, Flow and Flower on one disc, and it was a limited-run physical release. It is the edition this page tracks, not the standalone digital Journey.
- Complete copies: a CIB listing should include the disc, the case and the printed materials. Many sellers mention a code insert; ask what is in the case rather than assuming. Confirm the product code on the back matches the US release.
- Sealed copies: sealed asking prices run well above used ones and there is no shortage of sellers on both ends. Check the shrink-wrap and seams in photos, and favor sellers who show the back of the case. Graded copies exist and are priced separately from ordinary sealed stock.
- Print variants: the listings you will see include different print runs and promotional labelling. Treat any "first print" claim as the seller's word unless the photos show it.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: cover-art-only listings (a printed sleeve, no game) carry the full title at a few dollars, and imported Korean-language copies and PAL copies appear in the same search. The feed filters these out; if you search eBay by hand, check the region and what is actually included.
Buying PlayStation 3 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation 3 disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
