Dragon Force: collector & reseller spec sheet
Working Designs published Dragon Force for the US Saturn in 1996. US copies ask several times what the Japanese original does, so region is the first thing to check.
- Product code & saves. Check that the code on the spine and disc matches the US Working Designs release. The game saves to the Saturn's internal backup memory or a backup RAM cartridge, not to the disc.
- Region and sequel. Japanese copies are cheap and common, and Dragon Force II was only released in Japan. A listing that says "2", "II" or "Import" is not the US game. The feed excludes Japanese copies, the sequel, PAL copies and anything shipping from Japan.
- Complete copies. CIB listings often call out the registration card. Some also bundle a Dragon Force-stickered backup RAM cartridge. Check the photos for what's actually included, because the title doesn't prove it.
- Reprinted paperwork. Some disc listings come with reprinted covers or manuals. The feed excludes titles that say "reprint", but check the photos on any copy priced like a CIB.
- Graded copies. WATA-, PSA- and CGC-graded copies ask far above a raw copy. Read the grade and cert before you compare.

Buying Sega Saturn games: what to check by condition

Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
