- Four discs, one game. The US release spans four CDs. A "complete" copy, or even a discs-only one, needs all four. Sellers sometimes split the set and sell single discs, and one listing in our tuning sample was titled "3-Disc". Count the discs in the photos before you pay a full-set price. The feed drops titles that say "disc 1 only" through "disc 4 only" or "missing disc".
- Product number. US sellers often put 81307 in the title. Check it against the spine and the disc printing instead of trusting the title.
- Saves. The game saves to the Saturn's internal battery-backed memory or to a backup memory cartridge, so the discs themselves have no save hardware that can wear out. A Saturn with a dead internal battery won't keep saves, which says nothing about the game.
- Japanese copies. The Japanese release, Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG, is listed under "Panzer Dragoon Saga" all the time and asks a fraction of the US price. It's in Japanese. Look for Japanese text on the spine and the discs.
- Repro boxes and manuals. Authentic discs with a reproduction case, cover art or manual show up at near-CIB asking prices. A listing that says "repro box" is not a CIB copy, even if the discs are real.

Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
