How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 123 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 107 of 123 (~87%) for quality reasons. The remaining 16 are what we'd actually surface.
- 73 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 28 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 3 shipped from a region we exclude
- 2 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Evolution 2: Far Off Promise (Dreamcast) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 96 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Evolution 2: Far Off Promise (Dreamcast) because they are: that's the noise.

Evolution 2: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Region & saving: Ubisoft published the US release (listings carry the NTSC-U/C Teen rating). Japanese copies are a separate, region-locked disc with their own title. Saves go to a VMU memory card, not the disc.
- Print variants: No variant we can name with confidence. Treat "rare print" claims as the seller's word and compare against photos of a known-good copy.
- Listing traps seen in this feed: Japanese imports listed under the English title, manual-only or case-only sales, and two-game lots with the first Evolution. Check the photos show the actual disc, and note that "missing insert" copies are common and should price below a complete one.
- Not the first game: Evolution: World of Sacred Device is a separate game with its own tracker.
Buying Dreamcast games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Dreamcast disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
