Capcom's Resident Evil Code: Veronica was a Dreamcast release in 2000. This page tracks the US (NTSC-U/C) release.
- Two discs. The game ships on two GD-ROMs. A complete copy has both, so look for "2 discs" or photos of both. A single disc is worth far less than the pair, and the feed rejects titles that say "disc 1 only" or "disc 2 only".
- Save mechanism. Progress saves to a VMU (Dreamcast memory card), not the disc. A seller's "tested" says nothing about your save space, so you need your own VMU.
- Registration card. Many CIB listings mention a registration card. It is a nice-to-have that sellers use to justify a higher asking price, so check it appears in the photos before paying for it.
- Not the same release. Japan's Biohazard Code: Veronica (including its limited and "Complete" editions) is filtered out, as are listings that say "Code Veronica X", the later PS2/GameCube release. The Gamepro and Prima strategy guides share the title, so make sure the listing is for the game.

Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
