How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 51 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 35 of 51 (~69%) for quality reasons. The remaining 16 are what we'd actually surface.
- 26 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 4 shipped from a region we exclude
- 4 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories (PS2) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 98 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories (PS2) because they are: that's the noise.

Disgaea 2: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Publisher and save: Nippon Ichi developed it; the US release came out in 2006 (listing titles show NIS America as publisher). Progress saves to a PS2 memory card, so there is no internal battery to fail.
- Print variants: Listings mention a Black Label print alongside the standard retail disc. Sellers' print claims are often unverified, so compare the cover and disc against a known listing before paying a premium for one.
- Same-title confusion: The first game, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, has its own page. The Japanese release is a separate region-locked disc, and the PSP version (Dark Hero Days) is a different game on different hardware. Check that the listing is the US NTSC PS2 disc.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: Disc-only and manual-and-registration-card-only listings are common. The feed keeps disc-only copies, which show up under the Loose chip, and filters out manual-only and booklet-only listings. Some sealed copies are graded and ask several times the usual sealed price, so compare against other sealed listings before bidding.
Buying PlayStation 2 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation 2 disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
