How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 4572 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 4478 of 4572 (~98%) for quality reasons. The remaining 94 are what we'd actually surface.
- 4347 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 86 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 26 shipped from a region we exclude
- 10 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 5 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 3 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 1 priced above the curated ceiling
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Resident Evil (GameCube) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 152 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Resident Evil (GameCube) because they are: that's the noise.

Resident Evil: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Format and saves: Capcom released the Resident Evil remake for GameCube in 2002 (US) on two discs, and progress saves to a GameCube memory card, so there is no cartridge battery to worry about. A complete copy should have both discs in the case; check that the seller shows both.
- Print variants: an original black-label print and a later Player's Choice budget reprint both circulate. Asking prices can differ by print, and many sellers don't say which they have, so compare the case and disc photos to a known reference rather than trusting the title. Sellers also call it "Resident Evil 1" or "Remake"; the feed matches those.
- Traps seen in this feed: single-disc listings and manual-only or case-only listings that share the title, plus numbered-sequel lots that mention this game in passing. Sealed copies are the thinnest slice of the feed, so treat a single very high or very low sealed asking price with suspicion until you've checked the seller.
- Not to be confused with: the series' other GameCube entries, Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 4, which have their own pages.
Buying GameCube games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every GameCube disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
