How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 62 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 60 of 62 (~97%) for quality reasons. The remaining 2 are what we'd actually surface.
- 59 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 99 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) because they are: that's the noise.

Phantasy Star Portable: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: Sega's action RPG Phantasy Star Portable came out for the PSP in North America in 2009. The disc is a UMD, and progress is stored on a Memory Stick, not on the disc.
- Don't confuse it with the sequels. Phantasy Star Portable 2 and 2 Infinity are separate games, and many US-seller listings mix the numbers into one title. This feed requires the original's title words and rejects titles carrying a "2" or "Infinity", so a sequel copy should not show up here.
- Import copies are common. Japanese-release discs are listed constantly at low prices, often with generic titles. The feed screens out Japanese-import wording and Japan-located sellers. Still, check the region on the product code or back cover before paying a US price.
- Print variants: a standard retail release is what most listings are. Any budget reprint, if a seller claims one, is worth confirming from photos of the back cover.
- Listing trap: "Complete" or "CIB" in a title is the seller's claim. Look for the case, the disc and the manual in the photos, because loose-disc listings often sit at similar asking prices.
Buying PSP games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PSP UMD. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (UMD only)
- Ask for photos of both sides of the UMD, including the disc surface visible through the shell's window. Deep scratches there can stop it reading.
- Check the plastic shell for cracks or a loose half, and the label for peeling or wear.
- Compare the label art against a known-authentic copy. Reprinted labels are the main fake.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the UMD's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
