How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 8438 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 8393 of 8438 (~99%) for quality reasons. The remaining 45 are what we'd actually surface.
- 8262 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 51 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 39 shipped from a region we exclude
- 35 priced above the curated ceiling
- 3 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 2 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Final Fantasy (PSP) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 159 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Final Fantasy (PSP) because they are: that's the noise.

Final Fantasy: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is. The 20th Anniversary Edition of the original Final Fantasy on PSP (US release 2007), a remake of the first game. It ships on a UMD and saves to a Memory Stick. Sellers often title it just "Final Fantasy PSP", with or without "20th Anniversary".
- Don't confuse it with its sibling. Final Fantasy II got a matching 20th Anniversary PSP release with near-identical packaging, and listings mix them up. Check the cover and the disc label say Final Fantasy, not II, before paying. The feed rejects titles naming II, but a mislabeled listing can still slip through. Dissidia Final Fantasy is a different game, tracked separately.
- Print variants. An original retail print and a later budget reprint both exist. Compare the cover and spine against a known listing before paying a premium for either.
- Listing traps. Strategy guides and manual-only or case-only listings carry the Final Fantasy name and sometimes the PSP name too. Read for "no game", "manual only" and "UMD video".
Buying PSP games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PSP UMD. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (UMD only)
- Ask for photos of both sides of the UMD, including the disc surface visible through the shell's window. Deep scratches there can stop it reading.
- Check the plastic shell for cracks or a loose half, and the label for peeling or wear.
- Compare the label art against a known-authentic copy. Reprinted labels are the main fake.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the UMD's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
