Phantasy Star III: Generations of Doom is the third Genesis entry, released in the US in 1991. Many listings drop the subtitle and write "Phantasy Star 3", which the feed also catches.
- Save mechanism. Battery-backed save. The original cell is 30+ years old, so "still saves" and "new battery" appear in listings often. Budget for a battery swap whatever the seller claims, and check that the label matches the US Genesis release.
- Paper extras drive asking prices. Complete copies are sold with a manual and often a poster or map. Titles saying "no map" or "no poster" ask less than ones with everything. Treat a "CIB" claim as unverified until the photos show each piece.
- Poster and hint book listings. Standalone poster inserts and the official hint book are listed under the full game title, sometimes at cart-level prices. - For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
