How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one model. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different model that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 220 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 68 of 220 (~31%) for quality reasons. The remaining 152 are what we'd actually surface.
- 50 listed in the wrong eBay category (an accessory or part, not the item)
- 6 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 5 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 4 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 3 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Dell Latitude 7490 returns far more than the model itself: chargers, cases, replacement screens, logic boards and locked machines all mention it in their titles. These are the 6 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Dell Latitude 7490 because they are: that's the noise.

Latitude 7490: buyer & reseller spec sheet
Identity. Check the model name on the lid or bottom label and in the BIOS or system-information screen, not just the listing title. Sellers often list neighbouring Latitude models in the same title (7480, 7400), and a few mislabel the screen size, so confirm it from the photos.
Configurations & value impact. Listings of this model vary widely. The main price levers are the processor tier (Core i5 versus Core i7), memory, SSD capacity and a touchscreen panel. Refurbished-seller listings often cover a range of memory and storage options in one title, such as "8-32GB RAM", and the asking price depends on which option you pick at checkout. Compare the exact configuration, not the headline price. Individual used units usually state their exact spec and are the cheapest way in.
Traps seen while tuning. Some used units are listed with no hard drive or SSD, or are sold as untested "as-is" machines, at prices that look like deals. The feed filters the clearest cases, but read the full description before you buy. Multi-unit lots that name this model alongside others are excluded.
Buying a used laptop: what to check
These checks apply to every model on our laptop pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this model.
Used
- Ask for a screenshot of the system information showing the exact CPU, graphics card, memory and storage. Listings often name the top configuration of a model line.
- Ask whether a BIOS or firmware password is set. A locked BIOS can make the machine impossible to reinstall or upgrade.
- Confirm Windows is activated, or price in a license if it isn't.
- For a laptop, ask for a battery report (powercfg /batteryreport on Windows) showing design versus current capacity.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (the manufacturer or a third party), how long the warranty is, and whether the battery or storage was replaced.
New
- Check the box is sealed and register the serial for warranty as soon as it arrives.
