ThinkPad T480 — Price Guide & Live Deals

ThinkPad T480: buyer & reseller spec sheet

Telling it apart. The T480 is the 14-inch ThinkPad. The thinner T480s is a different machine that sellers often mention in the same breath, and its parts are not interchangeable. Look for "T480" without the trailing "s" in the title, and check the label or the system-info screenshot rather than trusting the headline. Listings that name two or three ThinkPad models in one title usually cover parts.

What moves the price. Memory and storage are the biggest swings, and a seller who upgraded them often lists the machine at a premium over a stock unit. The processor tier matters next. Some units have a touchscreen, others a plain panel, and a few carry a discrete graphics chip; listings say which. Battery health is quoted in percent by some sellers and is worth asking about when it is missing. Many T480 units ship with an extra external battery, which is a bonus when it is included.

Traps we saw. Some listings are priced like a working laptop but say no drive or no RAM in the title or description, so read the whole title. A few list a seventh-generation processor next to the T480 name, so confirm the CPU against what you expect.
