Exact SKU identity. The EPYC 7551 is a 32-core, 64-thread server processor from the first-generation "Naples" EPYC family, for socket SP3. The plain 7551 and the 7551P are different SKUs: the "P" part is limited to single-socket boards, while the plain 7551 can also be used in dual-socket boards. Sellers often write "7551(P)" or list both in one title, so confirm the exact model and the part number printed on the CPU from a photo rather than trusting the title. This feed requires "7551" in the title and leaves out titles naming 7551P, along with neighbouring first-generation models.
Variants & value impact. Some chips are sold locked to a server vendor (listings say "Dell locked" or "locked"), while others say "unlocked" or "non-Dell lockout". A locked CPU is meant for that vendor's boards and may not work in a standard retail board, which is why locked chips tend to be listed at lower asking prices. Prefer listings that say "unlocked" if you are building on a non-OEM board.
