The Ryzen 9 5950X is the 16-core, 32-thread desktop chip of the Ryzen 5000 family, built for the AM4 socket. Listings for it carry the part number 100-000000059, in the title or the MPN field. Retail boxed units may carry a different suffix, so ask the seller if the number differs.
Confirm the exact chip. Several look-alikes list beside it: the Ryzen 9 5900X, the 5900XT (also listed as 16-core, so it is not a renamed 5950X), the older Ryzen 9 3950X, and Threadripper parts such as the 1950X and 5955WX. Check the Processor Model item specific, then the markings on the chip in the photos.
Multi-chip titles. "AM4 CPU" listings that name a 5950X alongside a 5900X, 3950X and others, with a model dropdown, show one price for several chips. This feed rejects them, because you cannot tell which chip the price covers.
Whole PCs and combos. Gaming towers and CPU-plus-motherboard bundles list under the processor's name. The feed rejects them by title wording and by the price ceiling, so what remains is the bare processor.
Variants. A boxed retail chip may ask more than a bare one, and asking prices follow what is in the box (box, cooler or nothing). The 5950X has no integrated graphics, so you need a graphics card.

- Ask whether it was overclocked or delidded. Neither is a dealbreaker, but both should be disclosed.

New
- Check whether it is a boxed retail chip or a tray chip. Tray chips usually ship without a cooler and with a different warranty.
