How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one part. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different part that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 18 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 16 of 18 (~89%) for quality reasons. The remaining 2 are what we'd actually surface.
- 15 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Intel Xeon Gold 6230 returns far more than the part itself: laptop chips, mining rigs, coolers, empty boxes and whole PCs all mention it in their titles. These are the 64 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Intel Xeon Gold 6230 because they are: that's the noise.

Xeon Gold 6230: buyer & reseller spec sheet
The Xeon Gold 6230 is a 20-core, 40-thread server processor for the LGA 3647 socket, sold under the Intel spec code SRF8W. Most listings are pulls from retired servers, so loose chips with no box are the norm.
Confirm the exact chip. Two near-identical names sit beside it in search results. The Gold 6230R is a 26-core part with a different spec code (SRGZA), and the 6230N is a separate variant with its own spec code. Check the model suffix and the spec code against the heat-spreader markings in the photos, not only the title. This feed rejects titles naming the R or N suffix.
Multi-model titles. Some listings string several model numbers together, so the price shown may belong to a different chip. The feed rejects the ones it can recognise.
Whole servers, boards and kits. Titles that include a motherboard, a complete server or workstation, or a server-vendor "CPU kit" also carry the model name, and they list far above a bare chip's price. The feed drops them, so each result is a single processor.
Platform note. This is a server part. Confirm your board supports it before buying, and check the photos for bent or missing contacts on the socket side.
Buying a used processor: what to check
These checks apply to every processor on our CPU pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this model.
Used
- Ask for a clear, close photo of the pins or contact pads, wherever the socket keeps them. Bent pins are the most common failure.
- Confirm the model printed on the heat spreader matches the listing, and ask for a screenshot of the chip identified in the OS or BIOS.
- Ask whether it was overclocked or delidded. Neither is a dealbreaker, but both should be disclosed.
Refurbished
- Find out who tested it and what the return window is.
New
- Check whether it is a boxed retail chip or a tray chip. Tray chips usually ship without a cooler and with a different warranty.
