How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 118 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 83 of 118 (~70%) for quality reasons. The remaining 35 are what we'd actually surface.
- 76 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 6 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Mario Power Tennis (GameCube) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 112 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Mario Power Tennis (GameCube) because they are: that's the noise.

Mario Power Tennis: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release. Camelot developed it and Nintendo published it for GameCube in 2004. It is a different product from the Wii "New Play Control!" reissue, which the feed filters out.
- Saves. Progress is stored on a GameCube memory card, not on the disc. Don't pay extra for a "save included" claim.
- Print variants. An early-run retail print and a later budget reprint exist. Treat a "rare print" claim as unproven unless the seller shows the distinguishing mark in photos, and compare against ordinary complete asking prices first.
- Region traps. European copies (listed as EUR, FRA, ITA or PAL) and Japanese copies (generic titles like "GameCube Software" from Japan-based sellers) show up in search. The profile drops listings from Japan and titles naming those regions, but a vague title can slip through. Look for the NTSC-U/C mark in photos.
- Listing traps. Disc-only, "no manual" and complete copies share one title and sometimes one photo. Read the title for "disc only", "no manual" or "complete" before comparing asking prices. Manual-only and case-only listings also reuse the game's name.

Buying GameCube games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every GameCube disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
