How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 51 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 38 of 51 (~75%) for quality reasons. The remaining 13 are what we'd actually surface.
- 25 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 8 shipped from a region we exclude
- 4 priced above the curated ceiling
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Pokemon Channel (GameCube) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 108 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Pokemon Channel (GameCube) because they are: that's the noise.

Pokemon Channel: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Product code & saves. The North American release is an NTSC-U/C disc from 2003. Check that the product code on the disc and case spine matches the US release rather than the Japanese one. Saves go to a GameCube memory card, so there's no battery to fail.
- Cards and inserts. Sellers routinely note whether the bundled e-Reader cards came with the game ("no cards" is common), so a complete-in-box asking price hinges on cards, manual and case all being there. Black-label copies turn up in complete listings; read the photos for the case and inserts rather than trusting "CIB" alone.
- Japanese copies under English titles. The Japanese release is a different product with its own expansion disc, and it is listed constantly with plain English titles and much lower asking prices. The GameCube is region-locked, so a Japanese disc won't boot on an unmodified US console. The feed drops listings that say Japanese, JP or expansion pack, but check the product code before you buy elsewhere.
- Listing traps. Reproduction jewel cases and faceplates, custom-artwork cases, memory cards "with the save" and standalone e-Reader card or insert sets all use the game's name in the title. None of them is the disc.

Buying GameCube games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every GameCube disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
