How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 373 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 262 of 373 (~70%) for quality reasons. The remaining 111 are what we'd actually surface.
- 197 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 34 shipped from a region we exclude
- 11 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 10 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 4 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 2 priced above the curated ceiling
- 2 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 2 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Pokemon Colosseum (GameCube) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 102 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Pokemon Colosseum (GameCube) because they are: that's the noise.

Pokemon Colosseum: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Product code & saves. The North American release is an NTSC-U/C disc from 2004. Check that the product code printed on the disc and the case spine matches the US release; Japanese copies carry a different code ending in
JPN. Saves go to a GameCube memory card, so there's no battery to fail. Trading Pokemon in from Pokemon Ruby or Pokemon Sapphire needs a Game Boy Advance and the GameCube link cable, neither of which comes with the game. - Print variants. Sellers list both the original black-label print and the Player's Choice budget reprint. Original-print complete copies usually ask a bit more. Both play the same.
- Bonus disc confusion. The US pre-order bonus disc (the Jirachi disc) is a separate disc that often gets listed as "Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc", sometimes with "CIB" in the title, at prices well above the game itself. This feed drops bonus-disc and game-plus-bonus listings so the price table tracks the game alone. Read the title carefully if you're shopping elsewhere.
- Japanese copies under English titles. Japanese discs are listed constantly, often with a plain English title and a much lower asking price. The GameCube is region-locked, so a Japanese disc won't boot on an unmodified US console.
Buying GameCube games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every GameCube disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
