- Release: FromSoftware's survival-horror game came out on PS2 in 2004, published in North America by Agetec. This page tracks the US (NTSC-U/C) release only.
- Scarcity: the US run is small and asking prices are high and widely spread, so a listing far above or below the pack deserves a closer look. Asking prices are not sold prices.
- Japanese copies: the Japanese release is a separate, cheaper disc. Many sellers use generic titles ("PS2 software") with no region word. This feed rejects listings whose item location is Japan and titles that say Japan, Japanese or NTSC-J, but confirm the region in the photos (US label and the Agetec logo) before paying.
- Reproduction manuals: we saw listings of a genuine disc paired with a "reproduction manual". The feed rejects them. If a seller lists "complete", ask for a clear photo of the manual and case.
- Save mechanism: the game saves to a PS2 memory card, so no save battery is involved.

Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
