How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 106 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 43 of 106 (~41%) for quality reasons. The remaining 63 are what we'd actually surface.
- 14 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 10 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 9 shipped from a region we exclude
- 5 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 3 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords (GBA) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 102 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords (GBA) because they are: that's the noise.

Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is. One GBA cartridge carrying the SNES-era A Link to the Past port plus the Four Swords multiplayer mode. Don't confuse it with the SNES original, which is a separate game with its own page. Check that the product code on the label matches the US release, not the Japanese one.
- Saves. The game saves progress on the cartridge. Ask the seller to confirm a save holds after power-off; "tested" often only means it boots. Four Swords multiplayer needs link cables and extra GBAs, so a seller's boot test says nothing about it.
- Print variants. Sellers mention an early-run print and a later Player's Choice budget reprint, and sealed copies ask far more than a loose cart. Sealed and graded (WATA, CGC) copies ask several times what a complete copy asks. Read the exact print wording in the listing rather than trusting a "first print" label.
- Title traps. Sellers sometimes list only half the title ("A Link to the Past" alone, or a Zelda GBA cart that is a different game). The feed requires "Four Swords" in the title, but check the label photo before paying a premium. Boxes, manuals and inserts are also sold on their own under the full game name.
- Wrong region. Japanese and European carts appear under the English title. The feed drops Japan-located listings and titles that say Japan, JPN, PAL or European; for anything else, ask for a label photo.
Buying Game Boy Advance games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Game Boy Advance cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
