How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 130 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 74 of 130 (~57%) for quality reasons. The remaining 56 are what we'd actually surface.
- 33 shipped from a region we exclude
- 26 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 6 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 5 priced above the curated ceiling
- 3 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team (GBA) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 107 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team (GBA) because they are: that's the noise.

Red Rescue Team: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and save: Red Rescue Team is the Game Boy Advance half of the first Mystery Dungeon pair. Its sibling, Blue Rescue Team, is a separate Nintendo DS game. The product code on the US label should match the US release; compare it with a reference photo before paying a US price. How the cart saves is not documented in our facts file, so ask the seller to confirm it saves and reloads after a power cycle.
- Prints: An early-run retail print and later reprints may exist. We haven't confirmed identifying marks, so compare box and label against reference photos instead of trusting a seller's "first print" claim.
- Region traps: Japanese copies turn up in Red Rescue Team searches, often from Japan-based sellers. The feed filters by region wording and item location, but a Japanese cart listed from a US address with no region wording can still get through. Check the label text.
- DS sibling and guides: Blue Rescue Team (DS) is not on this page. Listings that pair the two games, or strategy guides covering both, use the same title words as the cart, and the feed leaves them out. The later DS game Explorers of Sky has its own page.
- PAL copies: European copies are listed under the same title; the feed leaves out titles that say PAL or EUR.
- Graded copies: High-grade sealed copies exist and ask far more than this feed's price ceiling, so a thin Sealed chip is normal.
Buying Game Boy Advance games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Game Boy Advance cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
