- Three versions, one page. The first Star Force came out in three versions: Pegasus, Leo and Dragon. This page tracks all three together, so the price table blends them. In the listings we saw while tuning, Dragon copies, especially complete ones, were asked noticeably more than Pegasus or Leo. Check which version a bare-title listing is before comparing it to the median.
- Not the sequels. Star Force 2 (Zerker x Ninja / Zerker x Saurian) and Star Force 3 (Black Ace / Red Joker) are separate games, and titles naming them, plus multi-game sets, are filtered out. Check the subtitle on any listing that says only "Mega Man Star Force".
- Not Battle Network. The earlier GBA series, Mega Man Battle Network, is a different game and not on this feed.
- US copy. This page tracks the North American release. Japanese-market copies (Ryuusei no Rockman), PAL listings and Japan-located sellers are filtered out because they price differently.

Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and plastic case and cover art are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
