How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 72 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 33 of 72 (~46%) for quality reasons. The remaining 39 are what we'd actually surface.
- 27 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 5 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Final Fantasy Anthology (PS1) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 113 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Final Fantasy Anthology (PS1) because they are: that's the noise.

Final Fantasy Anthology: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is: a two-game compilation of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI for the original PlayStation, released in the US in 1999. Each game is on its own disc, so a complete copy has more than one disc. Progress saves to a PlayStation memory card.
- Don't confuse it with Final Fantasy Chronicles. Chronicles is a separate compilation (Final Fantasy IV plus Chrono Trigger). Sellers sometimes put both names in one title; the feed rejects those.
- Print variants: an original retail print and later budget reprints exist. Sellers describe them as "Black Label" and "Greatest Hits", and the label colour or tier usually moves the asking price. Compare the product code and label on the listing photos against a confirmed US copy rather than trusting the title.
- Titles to read closely: one disc sold alone, a manual or strategy guide on its own, and PAL (European) copies can all carry "Final Fantasy Anthology" in the name. A US copy is NTSC-U/C; check the photos for that marking.
- Completeness: confirm both discs are in the listing. "Missing disc" sellers are common, and a single-disc copy is a different price tier than a full set.

Buying PlayStation games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
