How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 1 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 1 of 1 (~100%) for quality reasons. The remaining 0 are what we'd actually surface.

What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Bionic Commando: Elite Forces (GBC) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 90 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Bionic Commando: Elite Forces (GBC) because they are: that's the noise.

Elite Forces: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Platform: a Game Boy Color-only release, published by Nintendo in 2000 in the US. It is a separate game from the NES original, Bionic Commando, even though the titles share most of their words.
- Save mechanism: the cart keeps its progress with a save battery. Twenty-plus-year-old coin cells routinely fail, so budget for a battery swap whatever the seller says, and treat "tested, saves" as a seller claim rather than a guarantee.
- Product code: check that the code on the label matches the US release. Imports and reproductions often don't.
- Print variants: the feed doesn't track print variants. Compare the label and board photos against a known authentic copy before paying a premium for any "rare" or "limited" wording.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: some listings are manuals, box-and-inserts or "custom, no game" items under the full game title, and the feed rejects them. A Brazilian-published copy (Gradiente) also turned up at a CIB asking price well above the US copies, and the feed rejects those as well. A "limited run" GBA/GBC listing looked like a reproduction and is also excluded.
Buying Game Boy games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Game Boy cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
