How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 43 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 26 of 43 (~60%) for quality reasons. The remaining 17 are what we'd actually surface.
- 21 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 3 shipped from a region we exclude
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 priced above the curated ceiling
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (Game Boy Color) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 92 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble (Game Boy Color) because they are: that's the noise.

Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and hardware. HAL Laboratory's tilt-controlled Kirby game for the Game Boy Color, released in the US in 2001. The cartridge has a built-in tilt sensor, so a working copy has to be tested by physically tilting it, not only by booting it.
- Region. The Japanese release is titled Koro Koro Kirby and turns up constantly in search results, often under the English name. Check that the product code on the label matches the US release before paying a US asking price. The feed rejects listings that say Koro Koro, Japan or Japanese, and listings whose item location is Japan.
- Print variants. No print variants are documented here. Treat any "rare" or "first print" claim as unverified and compare label photos against a known-good listing.
- Listing traps seen while tuning. Manual-only and box-only listings use the full game name. So do Japanese copies sold by US-based sellers, and strategy-guide listings. Prefer listings that state the tilt function was tested. Sibling Kirby carts such as Kirby's Block Ball get bundled with it in multi-game lots.
Buying Game Boy games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Game Boy cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
