- Original release: the Game Boy Color version was published by Capcom and developed by Two Tribes. Check that the label and product code match a US release before paying a US-market price.
- Two different new-in-box products share this page. Sealed listings are mostly the 2016 Limited Run Games physical reissue, a modern run that asks far less than a factory-sealed original. A sealed original is a separate, much rarer item. Check the seller's photos for Limited Run branding before assuming a sealed copy is an original.
- ModRetro "Ultimate Edition" listings are a different product (made for ModRetro's Chromatic handheld). The feed filters them out, so don't compare them against GBC cart prices.
- Loose carts are the volume market. Look for "tested" and clear label photos. Asking prices for complete copies, with box and manual, sit well above cart-only copies.
- Game Boy Color carts use a Nintendo security screw. A Phillips-head screw on the back means the cart has been opened or reshelled.
- Search trap: some sellers misspell the title ("Tori Tori"). The feed does not match those listings.
Buying Game Boy games: what to check by condition

Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.

- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
