How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 30 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 27 of 30 (~90%) for quality reasons. The remaining 3 are what we'd actually surface.
- 20 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 6 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Brigandine: Legend of Forsena (PS1) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 92 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Brigandine: Legend of Forsena (PS1) because they are: that's the noise.

Brigandine: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Saves: progress is stored on a PlayStation memory card, not on the disc. Test a copy by loading a save, not just booting the disc.
- Complete copies: sellers list US copies as complete with a map and a registration card. Compare the pieces against the seller's photos, and treat "disc and manual" or "no map" as a step below a full set.
- Region: the original Japanese release was titled Brigandine: Gensou Tairiku Senki, and a separate Japan-only Grand Edition followed it. Both turn up in the same searches as the US disc. Check that the seller states NTSC-U/C and that the item location is not Japan.
- Not the game: strategy guides, magazine ads, memory card stickers and Japanese-release extras (obi strips, spine cards) carry the Brigandine name and sell at prices that look like a deal. The feed rejects the ones it recognizes, but read the title before you click.
- Sealed and graded: factory-sealed and graded copies list at far higher asking prices than any used disc. Don't compare them against the loose price.
Buying PlayStation games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
