How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 34 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 19 of 34 (~56%) for quality reasons. The remaining 15 are what we'd actually surface.
- 13 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 4 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Ace Combat 3 (PS1) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 112 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Ace Combat 3 (PS1) because they are: that's the noise.

Ace Combat 3: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and save: Namco's flight-combat sequel reached North America on the original PlayStation in 2000. Progress saves to a standard PS1 memory card, not to the disc.
- Region trap: This page tracks the US (NTSC-U) release. Japanese and European copies share the same title text, and the Japanese release is a distinct, differently priced version. Check the region code on the back cover and the disc before paying a US price.
- Print variants: Check the listing photos for the cover and spine style. Later budget-line reprints can exist for PS1 titles, but we can't name a verified one for this game, so compare against a known retail copy rather than trusting a seller's "first print" claim.
- Listing traps: On eBay, Ace Combat 3 searches are crowded with Japanese import listings and Japanese-language strategy books. The book listings use the same game title and can look like the game at a glance. The feed rejects titles that name them, but confirm the item is a disc, not a book.
Buying PlayStation games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
