How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 40 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 26 of 40 (~65%) for quality reasons. The remaining 14 are what we'd actually surface.
- 17 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 8 shipped from a region we exclude
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Dragon Warrior VII (PS1) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 102 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Dragon Warrior VII (PS1) because they are: that's the noise.

Dragon Warrior VII: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release & saves: Dragon Warrior VII is the 2001 US PlayStation release from Enix, on two discs. Saves go to a memory card, so there is no cartridge battery to worry about.
- Print variants: Sellers mention a Black Label print. Treat it as a seller-stated detail and go by photos of the disc and case rather than the title.
- What splits the price: Complete copies are often listed with a registration card, and sellers call that out in the title. Ask for photos of both discs, the manual and the card. A copy missing disc 2 is not a game; the feed drops "disc 1 only" and "disc 2 only" listings.
- Listing traps: The Prima strategy guide, the Japanese Dragon Quest VII release and the separate Torneko: The Last Hope all reuse the name. Check the title says Dragon Warrior and the photos show a US NTSC disc and case. For the earlier Dragon Warrior games, see Dragon Warrior III and Dragon Warrior IV.
Buying PlayStation games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every PlayStation disc. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose (disc only)
- Ask for a clear photo of the data side under light. Light surface scratches usually play; deep or circular scratches often don't.
- Check the label art and the printing in the center ring against a known-authentic disc. Burned copies and reprinted labels are the main fakes.
- "Resurfaced" means the disc was polished. It is usually fine to play but worth less to collectors.
CIB (complete in case)
- Confirm the case, front art and manual are all shown, and that the art matches the disc's region.
- Cracked cases are cheap to replace; missing or reprinted cover art and manuals are what cost money.
- For multi-disc games, make sure every disc is pictured.
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
