How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 114 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 35 of 114 (~31%) for quality reasons. The remaining 79 are what we'd actually surface.
- 24 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 3 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 3 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 3 shipped from a region we exclude
- 2 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for 1080 Snowboarding (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 104 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to 1080 Snowboarding (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

1080 Snowboarding: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and sequel. Nintendo's snowboarding racer for the N64, released in 1998. Its sequel, 1080° Avalanche, is a GameCube game, so any "1080" listing naming GameCube is the wrong title. Not to be confused with the Atlus-published Snowboard Kids 2, which is a different game. For another N64 sports racer from the same era, see Wave Race 64.
- Product code. Check that the label's product code matches the US release (NTSC-U/C). Many sellers print "NTSC-U/C" in the title; treat that as a seller claim and confirm it against the label photo.
- Save mechanism. Don't assume a battery or a Controller Pak requirement from a listing. Ask the seller to confirm saving works if that matters to you.
- Print variants. Sellers advertise early-run and later reprints, and some graded listings lean on "1st print" wording. A premium for a specific print is only worth paying with clear label photos; treat the claim as unverified otherwise.
- Listing trap: Japanese copies under English titles. While tuning, Japanese-market copies turned up titled "Ten Eighty Snowboarding" with "Software" or "Soft" and no region mention. They won't run on a US console without an adapter. The feed drops Japan-located sellers and titles that say Japanese/JPN; check the label region on anything that slips through.
- Listing trap: manual-only and insert-only sales. Booklets and operation cards are sold under the full game title. Confirm a cart is actually in the photos.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
