How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 16 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 1 of 16 (~6%) for quality reasons. The remaining 15 are what we'd actually surface.
- 1 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Quest 64 (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 106 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Quest 64 (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Quest 64: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: the US release is the THQ-published 1998 Nintendo 64 cartridge. Check that the product code on the label reads as the US release before paying a premium for it.
- Prints and variants: we aren't aware of a documented print distinction that moves the price in a verified way, so treat any "rare variant" claim in a title as unproven and ask for label and back-of-cart photos.
- Save: the cartridge keeps your progress on the cart itself. Any save medium in a 25+ year-old cart can fail, so a seller's "tested" claim is worth more when it mentions saving and reloading, not just booting.
- Same-name noise: the word "Quest" is a magnet for unrelated N64 titles. Searches for it turn up Ogre Battle 64 listings that carry "Quest" as a tag, plus Master Quest and Reality Quest items. Confirm the title says Quest 64 and nothing else.
- Paper extras: manuals, promo posters and Nintendo Power issues all list under the game's name. A listing for the manual or poster alone is not the game. The feed rejects the ones that say "manual only" or "instruction booklet", but read the photos on any cheap "complete" listing.
- Graded copies: sealed examples are mostly sold as graded slabs, which sit far above loose and CIB asking prices. Compare like for like.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
