How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 102 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 53 of 102 (~52%) for quality reasons. The remaining 49 are what we'd actually surface.
- 28 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 8 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 8 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 5 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 3 shipped from a region we exclude
- 1 priced above the curated ceiling
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Banjo-Tooie (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 105 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Banjo-Tooie (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Banjo-Tooie: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release & code. Rare's 2000 sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, published by Nintendo for the US N64. Sellers cite
NUS-NB7E-USAas the US cart code; check that the code on the label matches the US release before paying a premium for any copy. - Saves. The save mechanism for this cart is not verified here. Ask the seller to confirm saves persist across a full power-off, and budget for a battery service if the cart turns out to use one.
- Prints. Early-run retail and later budget reprints may both exist; the feed does not separate them. Verify the box and label match each other on CIB copies.
- Rental copies. Former rental stock (Blockbuster-style boxes and stickers) turns up regularly. A rental box is not a retail box, so asking prices for "rare variant" rental CIBs should be compared against ordinary CIB asks, not assumed to carry a premium.
- Bundle titles. Listings that name both Banjo games in one title are two-game sales, and the feed drops them so asking prices stay per-cart. If a title only mentions Banjo-Kazooie as a "series" tag, it can still be a single Tooie cart; read the photos.
- Listing traps seen while tuning. Manual-only, box-only and strategy-guide listings use the full game name and often sit near cart prices. "Complete Box and Manual Only" means no cartridge.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
