How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 178 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 120 of 178 (~67%) for quality reasons. The remaining 58 are what we'd actually surface.
- 76 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 19 shipped from a region we exclude
- 8 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 5 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 5 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 5 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 2 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Mario Party 3 (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 106 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Mario Party 3 (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Mario Party 3: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Which game this is. The third and last N64 Mario Party, developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo, released in North America in 2001. Mario Party and Mario Party 2 share the title words, so check that the number on the cart label reads 3. The feed drops listings that name Mario Party 1, 2, 4 or 5, including "Mario Party 1 2 3" sets and lots.
- Product code. Check that the code on the cart label and box ends in "USA". Japanese copies carry
NUS-NMVJ-JPN, and some sellers put that code in the title. - The cheap copies are usually Japanese. Japanese carts fill the low end of Mario Party 3 listings at a fraction of the US asking price, and some come from US sellers who write "US seller" in the title. Japanese N64 carts won't play on a US console without an adapter. The feed drops listings that say Japanese, Japan, JPN or NTSC-J, and anything shipping from Japan.
- Listing trap: cheap "Brand New" copies. Listings titled like "Mario Party 3 For Nintendo n64 US Version", marked Brand New and priced near a used loose cart, turn up regularly. A factory-new 2001 copy doesn't sell at a loose-cart price. The feed filters those title patterns; treat any other new copy at a loose price the same way.
- Not the game. A "Party 3 Starstruck" parody title with a similar name, and Not For Resale cartridges, are also filtered out.

Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
