How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 18 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 11 of 18 (~61%) for quality reasons. The remaining 7 are what we'd actually surface.
- 10 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Indiana Jones & the Infernal Machine (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 93 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Indiana Jones & the Infernal Machine (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: LucasArts' third-person action-adventure reached the Nintendo 64 in 2000 after its PC debut. The N64 version needs the Expansion Pak, so a seller listing only the cartridge is not selling a ready-to-play setup unless a pak is included.
- Product code & saves: check that the product code printed on the label matches the US release. We state no save-hardware detail here; ask the seller how the cart saves and test it on arrival.
- Print variants: we know of no print variant that moves the price, so don't pay a premium for one unless the seller can show the mark and you can confirm it against a known authentic photo.
- Listing trap, rental copies: ex-rental copies turn up regularly, often with a rental sticker, a cut or partial box, or a rental-store label. They are real games but usually sell below a clean complete copy, so don't compare their asking prices to a standard CIB.
- Listing trap, "complete": the manual is sometimes sold on its own or as the only extra. Confirm the listing shows the box, manual and cart together before treating it as CIB.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
