How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 100 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 86 of 100 (~86%) for quality reasons. The remaining 14 are what we'd actually surface.
- 82 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 3 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Superman 64 (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 126 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Superman 64 (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Superman 64: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release: Superman 64 (listed on eBay as "Superman", "Superman 64" or "The New Superman Adventures") is a 1999 Titus Software release for the Nintendo 64, and it is widely panned. Sellers often say so in the title, and collectors still buy it.
- Product code & saves: check that the label's product code matches the US release. Ask the seller how the copy saves rather than assuming; if a save battery is present, it is a flat coin cell and 20+ year-old cells routinely fail.
- Print variants: we have no verified variant guide for this title. Listings turn up as ex-rental copies, copies in clear or hard cases and signed cartridges. Asking prices on these vary a lot, so compare against plain loose and complete asking prices.
- Listing traps: graded sealed copies are listed far above ordinary sealed asking prices, so read the grader and grade before you compare. Manuals, strategy guides and promo posters carry the game's name and are common; the feed filters the obvious ones, but check what is actually in the box.
- Seller shorthand: "Superman" and "Superman 64" are the same game. Some sellers call a cart-and-box copy "boxed" without saying whether a manual is included, so ask.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
