How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 121 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 81 of 121 (~67%) for quality reasons. The remaining 40 are what we'd actually surface.
- 62 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 11 shipped from a region we exclude
- 4 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 2 seller positive-feedback percentage too low
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Hey You, Pikachu! (N64) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 98 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Hey You, Pikachu! (N64) because they are: that's the noise.

Hey You, Pikachu!: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is: the Nintendo 64 voice-recognition Pokémon game, published by Nintendo and released in the US in 2000. It was built around the Voice Recognition Unit (VRU) and a headset-style microphone.
- The accessory is the price driver. A cartridge on its own is the cheapest way in. Listings that include the VRU and microphone, or a full boxed set, ask noticeably more. Check that the title or photos actually show the VRU and the microphone, not just the cart.
- Cart-only buyers: the game needs the VRU and a microphone to be played as intended, so a loose cart is mainly a collector piece unless you already own the hardware.
- Print variants: the feed does not separate prints, so judge by the seller's photos.
- Region: this page tracks US (NTSC-U/C) copies. The Japanese release, Pikachu Genki Dechu, is a different version that is region-locked on an unmodified US console.
- Often lumped in with: Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium, which are separate titles.
Buying Nintendo 64 games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Nintendo 64 cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and inner tray or insert are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
