How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one part. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different part that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 19 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 6 of 19 (~32%) for quality reasons. The remaining 13 are what we'd actually surface.
- 3 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 priced below our floor (too good to be true)
- 1 shipped from a region we exclude
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for GTX 980 Ti 6GB returns far more than the part itself: laptop chips, mining rigs, coolers, empty boxes and whole PCs all mention it in their titles. These are the 74 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to GTX 980 Ti 6GB because they are: that's the noise.

GTX 980 Ti: buyer & reseller spec sheet
Exact SKU identity. The GTX 980 Ti is a separate card from the plain GTX 980 and from the Titan X, and sellers often write "980Ti" or drop the "Ti". The desktop card is a 6GB part. Confirm the name and memory size from a GPU-Z screenshot or the item specifics rather than the title. The feed requires "980 Ti" in the title, so plain GTX 980 listings do not appear.
Variants & value impact. Reference-style Founders Edition boards, partner air coolers and factory hybrid or liquid-cooled boards share the same GPU, but asking prices differ with brand, cooler and condition. Liquid-cooled boards need their radiator and mounting hardware included to justify a premium. Boxed, complete copies tend to ask more than bare cards. For a later-generation step up, see the GTX 1080 Ti.
Listing traps. While tuning, titles naming this card kept turning out to be something else: waterblocks, replacement fans, bare PCBs, complete gaming PCs, multi-card bundles, a listing advertising a "12gb" modified card, and cards flashed for Macs that will not behave like a standard PC card. The feed filters these, but confirm what is in the box before paying.
Buying a used graphics card: what to check
These checks apply to every card on our graphics-card pages. The item notes above cover what is specific to this model.
Used
- Ask for a screenshot of a monitoring tool (such as GPU-Z) showing the exact model and memory size, plus a stress test or benchmark run with temperatures visible.
- Ask whether the card was used for mining. Mining wear is mostly fans and thermal pads, which are fixable, but it should be disclosed and priced in.
- Check the photos for bent fins, missing screws, broken fan blades and damaged power connectors.
- Confirm whether the manufacturer warranty transfers. It varies by brand and is tied to the serial number.
Refurbished
- Find out who refurbished it (the manufacturer or a third party) and how long the warranty is.
- Ask what was replaced. A repaste and new pads is routine; a replaced core or memory is not.
New
- Check that the box is factory sealed and the serial on the box matches the card, so warranty registration works.
- Very low prices on "new" cards from new seller accounts are the most common scam on this category.
