The RTX 4090 is a 24GB GDDR6X card, and at this price point it attracts a kind of listing noise that cheaper GPUs simply don't. This page filters a live eBay feed down to US sellers with established feedback, excludes stripped boards, whole systems and multi-unit wholesale lots, and separates what's actually for sale from what merely has "RTX 4090" in the title.

Which card you're actually buying

The 24GB GDDR6X configuration is consistent across retail 4090s. What varies is the board partner: Founders Edition is NVIDIA's own, and partner cards from ASUS (ROG Strix, TUF), MSI (Gaming X Trio, SUPRIM), Gigabyte (AORUS, AERO, Windforce), ZOTAC (Trinity, AMP) and PNY all appear regularly in this feed. They differ in cooler design, physical size and clock behaviour rather than in memory capacity.

Check physical dimensions against your case before buying. Partner 4090s are large cards and the size varies meaningfully between models. Don't assume one model's clearance figures apply to another — look up the specific model in the listing.

The RTX 4090D is a different SKU

You will see listings for the RTX 4090 D, a separate China-market variant. It is not the same product as the card this page covers, and this feed excludes it deliberately — it's the one same-name sibling a buyer here could plausibly end up with by accident. If you're comparing prices elsewhere and a 4090 looks unusually cheap, check whether the listing says "4090 D" before anything else.

Used vs refurbished vs new

Used is the bulk of this market and where the value is. A 4090 that has been gaming-used is not inherently compromised; these cards are recent enough that most used examples have had a fairly normal life.

Refurbished listings on eBay carry graded condition labels (Certified, Excellent, Very Good, Good). The grade describes cosmetic and functional state as assessed by whoever refurbished it — which may be the manufacturer or may be the seller. Ask which, and ask what warranty comes with it, because those two answers vary enormously between listings at the same grade.

New and Open box both appear. Open box on a card this expensive is usually genuine — an unwanted upgrade or a return — and often represents the best price-to-risk ratio on the page.

What this feed filters out, and why you should care

These aren't hypothetical. Every pattern below came out of the live listing data while this page's filter was being built.

Stripped boards sold as graphics cards. A meaningful number of RTX 4090 listings are the PCB and cooler with the GPU die and memory removed — titled things like "NO CORE NO VRAM" or "No Core/VRAM/PCB", priced at a small fraction of a working card. They are legitimate listings for repair stock, and they are absolutely not a deal on a 4090. This feed excludes them, but if you're browsing eBay directly, a 4090 priced in the low hundreds is this, every time.

Whole systems and servers. Complete builds and rack servers list under GPU searches because the GPU is the headline component. If the title also names a motherboard, a CPU, system RAM or storage, you're looking at a computer.

Multi-unit wholesale lots. Listings for 2, 4 or 8 cards at a combined price appear alongside single cards. The per-unit maths can look attractive until you notice the quantity.

Overseas listings priced as though domestic. A large cluster of near-identical listings, all at the same price, all shipping from outside the US, is a recurring pattern on this card. This page is filtered to US item locations — partly for shipping and returns, partly because that cluster is where counterfeit and misdescribed boards concentrate.

Mining is a smaller worry here than on older cards. The 4090 arrived after the large-scale GPU mining era had largely ended, so ex-mining supply is a much smaller share of this market than it is for 30-series cards. It's worth asking, but it shouldn't be your first question.

Before you buy

Any condition. Confirm the exact board-partner model, not just "RTX 4090". Ask for photos of the actual card — including the power connector and the I/O bracket — rather than stock images. Confirm the seller accepts returns.

Power delivery is the one thing to get right. The 4090's power connector standard, the adapter it ships with, and the PSU cable you need are genuinely worth verifying against the specific model in the listing rather than assumed from another 4090. Ask the seller to photograph the connector on the card and confirm what adapter or cable is included. Inspect that photo for any discolouration or deformation around the connector housing, and ask directly whether the card has ever shown heat damage there.

Used. Ask how long the seller owned it, what it was used for, and whether it has been opened, repasted or had its thermal pads replaced. None of those are disqualifying — a repaste on a card of this age can be a good sign — but a seller who can't answer is a seller who doesn't know the card's history.

Refurbished. Establish who did the refurbishment and what the warranty is. "Refurbished" with no warranty and no named refurbisher is just "used" with extra words.

New / Open box. For sealed cards, check the seller's other listings — a brand new account listing several high-value GPUs is worth caution. For open box, ask why it was opened and whether all original accessories are present.

On price. The spread between the cheapest and most expensive listing on this page at any moment is wide, and much of that spread is board-partner model and condition rather than a bargain. Read the price table by condition bucket rather than anchoring on the single lowest number in the feed.
