How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Not enough observed listings yet to compute a curation breakdown — usually a day or two of fresh data is enough.
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Crusader of Centy (Genesis) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 98 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Crusader of Centy (Genesis) because they are: that's the noise.

Crusader of Centy: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release and region: Atlus published the US Genesis release in 1994. The same game came out elsewhere as Soleil (and Ragnacenty in Japan), and this page tracks the US release only. Soleil and Ragnacenty listings are filtered out.
- Save mechanism: the cartridge saves progress to a battery. A 30-year-old battery can fail, so budget for a replacement even when a seller says "tested", and treat "new battery" in a title as a plus, not a guarantee.
- Prints and variants: don't pay a premium for a "rare print" claim unless the seller shows the label and product code and you can match them against a known authentic photo.
- Hint book vs manual: a separate hint book exists, and sellers sometimes list it alone or as part of a "complete" copy. Confirm which paper item is actually pictured before paying CIB money.
- Reproductions: because asking prices run high for a Genesis RPG, reproduction cartridges are listed regularly, some openly labeled and some just titled "Crusader of Centy" with a low price. A fraction of the loose-copy asking range, with no label photos, is a warning sign.
- Not to be confused with: Light Crusader, a different Genesis action RPG.
Buying Sega Genesis games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Sega Genesis cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and plastic case and cover art are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
