How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 61 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 35 of 61 (~57%) for quality reasons. The remaining 26 are what we'd actually surface.
- 30 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 3 seller had too few feedback ratings
- 1 wrong condition (e.g. parts-only)
- 1 caught by a junk-listing guard
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for Vectorman (Genesis) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 99 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to Vectorman (Genesis) because they are: that's the noise.

Vectorman: collector & reseller spec sheet
- Release & saving: Vectorman is the 1995 Sega Genesis platformer published by Sega. Check that the label and product code match the US release. It has no save system, so there is no battery to fail.
- Print variants: Listings show the game under more than one packaging style, including a "Mega Hit Series" budget reprint and sellers calling out a "cardboard" version. An early-run retail print and a later budget reprint exist, and the sealed-copy asking range is wider than the loose range. The listing title and photos should say which print you are getting before you compare prices.
- Don't confuse with Vectorman 2: The 1996 sequel looks nearly identical in listings and trades in its own market. The feed filters it out, but check the cart label in photos if a title is vague.
- Listing traps seen while tuning: Some listings are only a box, manual or custom case with the game name in the title. Many "Vectorman (Sega Genesis, 1995)" titles have no condition text at all, so ask whether the cart is tested and whether a box or manual is included.
Buying Sega Genesis games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Sega Genesis cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and plastic case and cover art are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
