How we filter
Every feed has its own filter, tuned by hand for this one game. Before any change goes live, those filters are tested against thousands of real eBay listing titles. Every night, each feed is checked against every other deal page in its category, so a listing for a different game that slips in gets flagged and fixed instead of quietly shown.
Of the 349 listings we observed for this game in the last 30 days, we filtered out 342 of 349 (~98%) for quality reasons. The remaining 7 are what we'd actually surface.
- 323 matched a bootleg / out-of-scope keyword
- 11 shipped from a region we exclude
- 7 caught by a junk-listing guard
- 1 seller had too few feedback ratings
What the feed excludes
An eBay search for MUSHA (Genesis) returns far more than the game itself: controllers, T-shirts, strategy guides, imports and repro carts all mention it in their titles. These are the 97 terms we filter out to keep this feed to the real thing. A listing whose title contains any of them never reaches the feed, the price table or an alert. Many look unrelated to MUSHA (Genesis) because they are: that's the noise.

MUSHA: collector & reseller spec sheet
- What it is: a vertical shooter developed by Compile and released in North America on Genesis by Seismic in 1990. The name stands for Metallic Uniframe Super Hybrid Armor and is often written "M.U.S.H.A." in listings.
- Aleste is the Japanese release. Musha Aleste is the Mega Drive version sold in Japan. Sellers sometimes put both names in one title, so check that the product code on the label matches the US release before paying a US-copy price.
- Print variants: none are documented here. Compare label and board photos against a known authentic copy, since the game's asking prices make it a target for reproductions.
- Complete copies: a CIB listing should show the case and manual; whether a registration card is included varies. Ask for photos of every piece rather than trusting "complete" in the title.
- Listing trap: a standalone box, manual, case or registration card is sometimes titled just "MUSHA Sega Genesis". The feed drops those that say so in the title, but read the photos on anything priced like a full game.
Buying Sega Genesis games: what to check by condition
These checks apply to every Sega Genesis cartridge. The item notes above cover what is specific to this game.
Loose
- Compare the label, shell color and front/back markings against a photo of a known-authentic cart. Repro labels are often glossier, blurrier or slightly off-color.
- Ask for a photo of the board or the back of the cart. An opened shell is not automatically bad (battery swaps are normal), but it should be disclosed.
- If the game saves to a battery, ask whether the save holds. Old save batteries fail with age regardless of what the listing says, so budget for a replacement.
CIB (complete in box)
- Confirm the box, manual and plastic case and cover art are all shown in the photos, not just listed in the title.
- Check that the box and manual are the same region and print as the cart. Mixed-and-matched "complete" copies are common.
- Box wear (crushing, tears, sticker residue) moves price far more than the cart does. Judge it from photos, not from the word "mint".
Sealed & graded
- For a graded copy, look the certification number up on the grading company's own site and confirm the photos match the slab you are buying.
- For an ungraded sealed copy, compare the wrap and seal pattern against a known factory-sealed example. Resealing is common, and a reseal on a loose game is worth a loose price.
- Ask for photos of every side, the seams and any price stickers. Refusing extra photos on a sealed listing is a red flag on its own.
